Stephen Cord, 5th Dan Mr. Stephen Cord began training under Grand Master Bong Soo Han in 1980. Over the last twenty-seven years Mr. Cord has been an integral part of Grand Master Han’s International Hapkido Federation as a student, instructor, demonstration team master of ceremonies and sometime contributor to IHF’s Hapkido News and Tae Kwon Do Times. When asked once why he still trains with Grand Master Bong Soo Han’s Hapkido his response was said to be because it continues to bring a smile to his face.
Mr. Harvey Schwartz moved from Chicago to Santa Monica in 1971 to attend Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles. Three years after graduation he enrolled in classes at Grand Master Bong Soo Han’s first Santa Monica School. The next thirty years were filled with Hapkido five nights a week, a successful personal injury law practice and the formation with his wife, Lynn Schwartz, of the prominent Westside real estate firm, Schwartz Realty. His proudest martial arts moment was seeing his son Aaron, receive his black belt as the youngest person to be awarded a Black Belt by Grandmaster Han and also as the first father and son black belts at the school.
